Shorty is a 21 year old Quarter Horse gelding. Shorty came to be with us at Greener Pastures Horse Rescue because he suffers from severe choke and his owners could no longer care for his special needs. Shorty's esophagus is much smaller than it should be(due to a previous choke and it's treatment) and he can choke on even a small amount of grass or hay (and pretty much any form of food). He is on a special diet of gruel(senior equine + water). He wears a muzzle which allows him water but no grass during the day so he can be out with the other horses(which keeps him happy because he is very sociable and loves to be around the "girls"). Shorty is a gentle man who loves kids and has a great personality. He is happy and healthy here at Greener Pastures.

As of October, 2008, Shorty has been adopted by a loving and forever home.
